Cheaper fuel and better food with NextJunction

New motorway app makes travelling easier and cheaper for motorists

Motorists need no longer settle for over-priced fuel and service station sandwiches thanks to NextJunction, a brand new app that finds alternative places to stop near motorway junctions. NextJunction is available now on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for just 69p and will be available for Android in the New Year.

We’ve all been there - you’re on the motorway and need to refuel, both yourself and the car. Stop at the next services though and you’re often forced to pay over the odds for your fuel and your sandwich, even though there may be a great local pub or petrol station just around the corner.

NextJunction has an ever-growing database of over 1,700 restaurants, hotels, petrol stations, pubs and other facilities, all individually researched, accurately mapped and within easy reach of motorway junctions. With the NextJunction app you can easily browse for and save your favourite places to eat and relax, saving you money and making your journey more enjoyable. With the complete database held in the app, you don’t even need an internet connection to view facilities at each junction.

“We’re very proud of our iPhone app,” says Mark Pierce, creator of NextJunction. “We have worked hard to create an intuitive user interface but above all we wanted to make something that would be genuinely useful for motorists. We know that NextJunction will save people money, as well as helping them discover some lovely new places in beautiful locations. It's a great opportunity for businesses to promote themselves too, as it’s free to be added to our database.”

“What a great app!” says one NextJunction user. “Easy, simple and quick! Great if you're like me and work around the country a lot. Better food and cheaper fuel too. Thanks for making my life a little easier.”

Notes to editors

  • The NextJunction app has been created by independent designer and developer Mark Pierce, inspired by his parents, who owned a pub 800 yards from junction 3 of the M50. 1000s of motorists were unaware that good food and toilets were available at a friendly pub so close to the motorway and as a product design graduate, Mark took the challenge to come up with a solution. When he’s not adding great pubs and restaurants to the NextJunction database, Mark is an Information Architect and Designer for one of the top UK behavioural research consultancies.

  • When an updated database is deployed, each individual device will detect that an update is required and offer to install it, meaning users stay up to date with new developments.
